We are there for you in the highs and the lows of life.
Services we Offer
Throughout its history, the Church of England has connected with people as they reach major milestones over the course of their lives and at the end of them. St Ed’s church offers a variety of services - to mark the birth of a child, to celebrate a marriage, to mark the beginning of a journey of faith, and to commemorate a life that has ended.

Baptisms (including Christenings) are brilliant moments we as a church get to celebrate, as individuals and families mark their commitment to God. We hold infant and adult baptism services across the year. Please contact us to register your interest and to find out more about baptism preparation.
Alternatively, please also contact us if you wish to explore a service of Thanksgiving, which is where we thank God for your child without making the baptism promises.

Confirmation is a special church service in which a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptised. If you would like to explore confirmation, we recommend that you have a look at the Church of England Website to answer any initial questions. Please then contact us us and we will get in touch with all the information you need.

If you considering having a funeral or memorial service at St Ed’s church, please have a look at the Church of England website first as it may answer some of your initial questions. Please then contact us and someone will be in touch to begin the process of preparing that service with you and the funeral directors.

St. Edmund’s Church Garden of Remembrance provides a place where local people can remember their loved ones. Cremated remains are buried in the allocated lawn areas in the garden at the front of the church. Please contact us at hello@stederby.org if you wish to discuss this with a member of our team.
