A little space for Jesus this Advent — one short video each week to help you pause, reflect and pray.
Speaking of Advent
Make space for the hope, peace, joy and love at the heart of Christmas. Join us each week for a short, imaginative video exploring the Christmas story through the eyes of its characters — reimagined as neighbours living in our community today.
With Bible readings and prayers to help you reflect, follow along on your own or with others as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birth.
Week 1: Angel Gabriel
The greatest story ever told begins with a visit from an angel. Did you know angels are all over the bible? In fact, the writer of Hebrews tells us we should be careful because the most unlikely person you meet could be an angel in disguise (Hebrews 13:2) Today’s video imagines Angel Gabriel in an unexpected disguise. As you watch, look out for themes of good news, hope and prophecy.
Week 2: Elizabeth
We all know Mary is the leading lady in the Christmas story. But what about her older cousin, Elizabeth, who plays a supporting role with an unexpected baby story of her own? She’s the mother of none other than John the Baptist! God really is the God of the impossible and the improbable, as you’ll discover in today’s video.
